Heading to Haiti

After months of aimless wandering we’re heading to Haiti to have what will probably be an experience of a lifetime. We will be spending the next two weeks at La Maison des Enfants d’Espoir, an orphanage near Port-au-Prince, trying our best to make ourselves useful. The connection with the orphanage was generously set-up by Gill’s aunt, Sue Montgomery, who covered the January 2010 earthquake for the Montreal Gazette and continues to raise money for causes in Haiti.

Armed with Lego and Jumbo Crayons, we expect our time in Haiti to be both emotionally taxing and absolutely rewarding. We just hope that the kids get as much out of us being there as we most certainly will.
