A day at Glaciar Perito Moreno

Massive doesn’t begin to explain how large the Glaciar Perito Moreno is. Located 80 km outside of El Calafate, the glacier is truly a sight to behold. Five km wide and around 74 m high, the glacier’s rugged, sharp peaks of ice jut out of its surface and crash into the surrounding Lago Argentino.

Glaciar Moreno is the only constant glacier in the world, while others recede.

A mind-blowing first sight of the Glaciar Perito Moreno

Perito Moreno stuns

5 km wide and 74 m above the surface of Lago Argentino

So pleased to be witnessing this natural wonder in person

In awe of where we are in the world

A close-up of big blue spires

Gillian enjoying the sun and chill from the glaciar

Advancing nearly 1m every day, Perito Moreno groans forward

Leah enjoys the view from the labyrinth of walkways

Taking a break to take it all in

A giant rupture makes a splash and causes a ripple wave effect
